This is how the cooling mat works

The passive TAMI cooling mat uses a 100% non-toxic cooling gel, which absorbs the animal's body heat and releases it into the air through evaporation. The self-cooling effect is activated by physical contact and pressure, and the mat cools for hours without prior cooling. The gel remains supple while the nylon surface material is pleasantly cool, comparable to cooling your feet in a water bath.  

Once the mat has warmed up, remove the cooling mat to allow it to “recharge” with the ambient temperature and become ready for use again.

When and why does a cooling mat make sense for your dog?

The cooling mat is particularly helpful on hot days and can support the treatment of temperature-sensitive illnesses.

The cooling mat feels very comfortable and slightly cool. Only when your pet lies on the cooling mat will the body cool down through contact. The body heat is dissipated, comparable to putting your feet in a water bath. The cooling mat absorbs body heat and allows it to evaporate, creating a cooling effect. Since the cooling mat only gradually cools the body temperature, it is healthier for your pet rather than lying on another very cold surface.

The Cool-Mat is very helpful for cooling your pet on a warm day and can help treat conditions that respond well to cooling.

Once your pet's body temperature has gradually warmed the mat, the Cool-Mat should be removed from the pet to "recharge" it with ambient air temperature, which will automatically lower the Cool-Mat's temperature again. The Cool-Mat is then ready for use again.

The surface can simply be wiped with a damp cloth.
